The Girl From Easter Island
The film synopsis is based on an old soviet song:
A girl from Easter Island had a lover
A lover in a colonel's uniform
The tigers kidnaped the colonel
and ate him under a banana tree.
A girl from Easter Island gave birth to a boy
The tiger kidnaped the little one
The one with no cloth yet
And ate him under the banana tree
Three years had passed
The girls became a mother
They kidnaped the husband officiary
And ate him under the banana tree
The banana trees lost all leaves long ago
The tiger lost all hair long ago
But every Friday after the sunset
They kidnap someone eat him under the banana tree
In 2009 I went to the Easter Island with my family.
That is when I first herd the song and when I got the idea of my degree work.
This is a story about a life in totalitarian regime.
All what ordinary people can do is try to leave and love. Even those who a part of the regime are getting eaten.
